I remember my acting teacher would say: “Don’t just sit at home practicing your monologues, thinking about auditions or talking craft everyday. Get out there and live! I mean live! Not just brooding, writing poetry and meditating in nature. Get dirty, get involved, love people, make out, break up and swim in the ocean of unequivocal humanity…because that’s where you will grow and be a skilled and inspired actor because you will have a life to draw from!”
I see this with entrepreneurs, whether online or not.While many are married or dating, there’s a very high number of people who have not been in relationships for years. Now this may be a choice and that is a personal one.
For the first year of my business I barely dated and worked seven days a week.
I had a long distance on-off again relationship with an ex. I believed that it served me and I truly did love him. The fact is that it didn’t. In time, I got clear and I moved forward, took some time off and then started to date again.
For many entrepreneurs it’s been a really rough ride when it comes to romance. In many ways, I feel we may have high standards and in some, maybe impossible standards. I’ve had to really get on friends to go on even one date, after years of nothing. Many convince ourselves that we are ok with this. A sabbatical can be a great way of clearing beliefs, patterns and unwanted energies. Ask yourself though after awhile, is this what you truly want? or is it just safe?
You can listen to all the Allison Armstrong, David Deida and tons of other experts who are sharing their wisdom but you have to get in there if you want to know and experience that type of life and loving.
At the heart of it our divine connection always guides us. Where does the juice come from? How can we guide others in life if we are so imbalanced? Love can be shared with social media peeps, family, friends, clients and students but there’s something about a one on one that can raise the level of learning like nothing else. So important to explore the make out sessions, the relationships, the break ups and the break throughs.
Otherwise we may become insular, talking heads, disconnected from our hearts and bodies. If it’s been years people, take a chance. It’s the New Moon. Let’s go all in. Enough with all the promos, programs and posting, get thee on a promising, hot date, please!
